Artist Lineup:

9:00pm – 10:00pm: Lucy Ford

Lucy Ford is a fantastic DJ, a founding member of the Footwork Team, and currently our amazing volunteer coordinator.

Lucy Ford has been mixing beats since 2004. She became an avid vinyl collector while in medical school in Ontario and got her start as a DJ in the Toronto scene. Lucy has held residencies with the Toronto-based Nocturnal Commissions and Embedded Entertainment and most recently is one of the founding members of Victoria’s Footwork Entertainment. Since moving west, she hosted Percussive Tendencies on the University of Victoria campus radio station CFUV 101.9FM and played at various Future Soul events including the finale in 2019. When Lucy isn’t spinning and mixing together various breakbeat-based genres, she enjoys twirling around in her hula hoop and enjoying nature on Vancouver Island with her two daughters.

10:00pm – 11:00pm: Dyce

From deep shuddering basslines to rolling 808s and high energy breaks, DYCE delivers a memorable sonic experience. His live performances span a vast musical landscape, from Garage, Breaks, and Jungle to Chicago Footwork. DYCE delivers handpicked gems from a multitude of underground music outlets and influences. Generating waves in the Island scene, his sets are characterized by precision blends, intricate selection, and an energetic stage presence.

11:00pm – 12:00am: Two Swords

Having signed to Critical Music under his ‘Hyroglifics’ moniker at 22, Matt Harris very quickly rose to the top of the D&B scene after the success of his debut EP. He would go on to release 10 EP’s and 1 full length LP with the label, also releasing tracks on prominent + tastemaker UK labels such as Alix Perez’s 1985, Ivy Lab’s 20/20 imprint, Friction’s Shogun Audio and Sherelle’s Hooversound label.

His skill as a DJ secured him yearly slots at leading UK + Europe festivals such as Boomtown and Outlook.

He was hand selected in 2016 to be part of Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal for two weeks where he would further showcase his talent, working with artists from across the globe on several different projects, and being mentored by Just Blaze, Deradoorian, Dorian Concept and Thundercat. This is also where the collaborative project ‘Rippps’ was birthed with the dutch keyboardist Niels Broos, releasing several tracks on LA based label ‘Alpha Pup’.

Having toured extensively around the US since 2018, Matt has made his mark on the electronic music scene, amassing a solid and dedicated fan base. In late 2022 he saw the opportunity to develop his production craft further and moved out to LA from Bristol where he was currently residing. This gave him the ability to work on regular sessions producing for different artists as well as allowing him the opportunity to regularly play 3-4 shows a month in various states across the US. He has played the Main stage at festivals such as The Untz, Infrasound, Treefort, Wicked Woods and Lucidity.

Matt Harris’ latest offering ‘Two Swords’ is a project that fully encapsulates his current sound and direction, propelling him into 2024 and beyond. As Matt’s production style evolved further following on from the release of his debut album ‘I’ll Wait, I Guess’, a sonically varied LP full of features from prominent UK artists such as Feux, Black, Josh, Nah Eeto, Deft, and Lyza Jane. He felt the need to evolve and with that brought a slight rebrand to his own work.

Over the past decade, Matt has proven his place and further continues to develop his musical voice with each passing year, an inimitable artist and producer with an undeniably promising future ahead.

12:00am – 1:00am: Monty

With releases on key labels such as Critical Music, Invisible and Flexout Audio, Monty represents 1985 Music ‐ the cutting‐edge label curated and nurtured by Alix Perez. His first release ‘Hold Me Back EP’ in 2017 led the way to a long and fruitful relationship with the imprint. After a string of genre‐bending output, he released his debut album ‘Hit The Lights’ in 2021. A landmark release for the Toulouse‐based producer and DJ, this long‐form listen is a celebration of tempo diversity and underground bass.

“A purveyor of the Toulouse sound, 1985 phenom, and supreme talent. Monty Brimley has quickly established himself to become all of the above – and this couldn’t be more evident than on his debut album, Hit the Lights.” UKF December 2021.

Similar to his production style, Monty’s DJ sets are famously diverse, progressive, and high energy. Flowing through sub‐genres smoothly and harmonically while taking the audience on a sonic journey through wonky halftime beats and rollers with the consistent theme of fun. Highlight performances include sets at Let It Roll, Outlook Festival, and Canada’s Shambhala Festival. As a pivotal artist in the underground dance scene, most weekends see Monty touring around Europe’s best clubs ‐ with previous tours completed or penciled around Australia, New Zealand, North America, and beyond.

1:00am – 2:00am: Mirage

Mirage’s musical journey mirrors the illusory nature of sound, bending and refracting across genres, creating an experience that captivates and transcends expectations in the realm of music production. Originally hailing from Québec, Mirage (formerly known as ‘Blackout’) began delving into the fusion of breaks and hip-hop on the analog grooves of vinyl in 2010. In his latest exploration, Mirage immerses himself in the depths of 140, Deep D&B & Jungle, consistently pushing the boundaries.

Beyond the studio, Mirage is a community-builder in Victoria, B.C.’s music scene. The architect behind Dubversified Culture, he founded this underground community in 2017 with a mission to elevate local West Coast bass artists and forge connections across global Bass music and the local dance music scenes. Host of a monthly show on Subtle Radio (UK), Mirage’s dedication underscores his commitment to navigating the ever-evolving landscape of electronic music.
