Outline: The Boom Booms bring their infectious blend of soul, reggae, rock & Latin roots to Upstairs on October 22!
The Boom Booms: Born out of a six-month, on-the-fly tour through Latin America in 2008, The Boom Booms have spent nearly two decades building a sound rooted in sunshine, soul and the West Coast.
Their debut album, Hot Rum, introduced a vibrant blend of folk, rock, reggae, African and Latin influences that quickly connected with audiences across BC. Before long, the lifelong friends were selling out venues and appearing at major festivals including Squamish Live and Pemberton.
Fan favourite “You Know” became a staple of their live sets with its infectious mix of rock and reggae, while the reggae-soaked “Caroline” paired longing lyrics with melodies that hit just as hard in English as they do in Spanish.
Along the way, The Boom Booms landed a song on the MuchMoreMusic countdown, won Best Roots Song, and were voted the Georgia Straight People’s Choice for Best Unsigned Band seven times.
Their evolution continued with Grammy-winning producer Chin Injeti on the polished soul-pop record Love Is Overdue, followed by Million Miles, co-produced alongside Sam Woywitka.
Now, the longtime friends and staples of the BC music scene are returning to where it all began. Their newest chapter reaches back to the beachy, roots-driven spirit of Hot Rum—bringing nearly two decades of experience along for the ride.

Entry Requirements: All patrons must be 19 years of age or older with two pieces of valid ID (one of which must be government issued with a photograph). We do not allow gang or fight related apparel. We are members of the BarWatch program, so entry may be denied due to previous incidents at our or other participating venues.
